Many professionals have need to verify the time and energy they expend in ongoing professional development activities. In some cases, individuals must be involved in continuing education activities in order to maintain their certification or licensure. In other cases, participation in such activities can influence performance evaluations and employment/salary decisions. Whatever the reason, if you need to verify your involvement in professional development coursework, the DAIS Academy now provides the option of formal CEU (Continuing Education Unit) credits issued through DAIS.
The national standard for CEU's is one (1) credit for ten (10) contact hours in learning activities. As you review the courses available from the DAIS Academy you will note that each provides the option of receiving formal notification (in transcript form) of course participation calculated on the 1/10 ratio. For the classes established for 2006-2007, it is estimated participants will spend 2.5 hours per week, making each 2-3 week class eligible for .75 CEU's. The CEU's are available automatically for courses taken through the DAIS Academy. You need do nothing to have the CEU's awarded in conjunction with your registration. If you need to verify the CEU's you have earned, you may contact DAIS directly for confirmation.
