Guidelines for Contributing to the DSSHE-L Threads

In an attempt to make the voluminous archives of the DSSHE-L more immediately useful to practitioners, we have begun to pull out threads on various topics of interest and posting them, in sequence and in a single place, in the Study/Workroom of the DAIS website. For example, there are already threads posted on such topics as: (a) training/certification of service animals; (b) documentation of disability for placement testing; (c) the ADA and on-campus living requirements; and more. There is no limit to the focus for pulling such threads out, just as there are no limits to our online discussions on the DSSHE-L, and not all the posts on the topic may be pulled out for separate review. The threads culled from the archives might revolve around an issue that surfaces regularly, or a particularly intriguing philosophical discussion, or something that lead to lots of folks offering up lots of good resources... anything is fair game. At the end of the thread there is information given regarding the titles under which posts in the thread appeared, as well as approximate dates for the discussion, so that viewers could go back and search the archives in a more targeted fashion for a full accounting of the topic. If you would like to contribute to this "library-in-progress" by pulling out a thread that you found particularly interesting or important or annoying or ????, we invite you participation...
Guidelines for Adding Threads to
DSSHE Threads Bookshelf...

1. Go take a look at the format of the threads already posted -- http://www.janejarrow.com/study.

2. The file submitted should have all relevant posts to the thread in one text file. Please use your discretion about which files should be included in the posts.

3. Inside the text file, each individual post should be neatly separated by rows of hyphens or asterisks.

4. Header information, except for the name of the author of the note and the name of the thread, should be removed.

5. All posts should be as close to chronological order as possible.

6. There may be some posts that seem irrelevant to the thread. However, if it triggers a response from someone that IS relevant, please include the post.

7. At the end of the file, you should include the beginning and end date of the thread, the original name (or names) of the thread, and your name, institutional affiliation (if any), and email address.

8. Mail the text file as an attachment to Dr. Jane E. Jarrow at threads@janejarrow.com.
