The University of Dayton is seeking an experienced and innovative professional with a student-focused vision of learning and disability support services to provide leadership for the Learning Enhancement and Academic Development unit. The University annually enrolls 1,750 new first-year undergraduates, has a total undergraduate population of 6,600, and serves a growing number of graduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences, Law School, and professional schools.
The Position
The Director for Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD) reports to the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Learning Initiatives. The position provides leadership to the LEAD unit within the Ryan C. Harris Learning Teaching Center. This position sets vision and annual goals for the LEAD unit, oversees academic and disability services, conducts assessment and evaluation of programs, manages budgets, supervises unit operations, and leads a fulltime staff of seven. Qualifications
The candidate selected for this position will possess
• an advanced degree in rehabilitation, special education, college student personnel, higher education administration or related field (doctorate preferred)
• significant demonstrated experience in a university or college setting administering student-centered academic support programs
• ability to provide leadership and manage a team
• ability to communicate and collaborate with campus constituents, parents, and students
• knowledge of the regulations set forth by the ADA
• an understanding of technology as it relates to disability services and improving student learning
• excellent oral and written communication skills
