NEWS AND UPDATES -- December 6, 2006Dates have been established for two DAIS institutes, previously projected for the 2006-2007 school year. . On January 8/9, you can attend "Adaptive Testing Programs from A-Z." On January 10/11, join us for a separate institute entitled, " (Re)Developing Policies and Procedures to Guide your DS Function." There is some expanded information about these institutes to be found at the link to your left marked "Something New From DAIS - Inservice Training Offsite" (http://daisweb.com/node/8) . The product from the first institute will be a completely reworked set of policies and procedures to guide your testing oversite - you will leave Columbus with a new set of policies and procedures ready to be implemented for Spring, 2007. The product from the second institute will be a new/revised set of policies and procedures, along with a carefully crafted "sales" plan that will allow you to fully inform the campus community, get buy-in from all the appropriate stakeholders, and be ready to implement in Fall, 2007. |
Welcome to the NEW Home of DAIS!Disability Access Information and Support (DAIS) is an important resource to the higher education community, providing a menu of services for those concerned with disability and access in higher education. Institutions and organizations can contract for help from DAIS, in the person of Jane Jarrow, Ph.D., for a variety of services. The growing list of DAIS publications and activities includes resource materials to assist in interpreting/fulfilling legal mandates, a variety of professional development opportunities, policy/procedure reviews, consultation regarding quality assurance and compliance, and information to aid in understanding the philosophical underpinnings of providing quality service to people with disabilities in the postsecondary environment.
