Public LibraryWelcome to the Public Library WE ARE STILL IN THE PROCESS OF REARRANGING THE BOOK SHELVES HERE IN THE DAIS LIBRARY. SOME OF THE INFORMATION HAS BEEN POSTED, SOME OF THE LINKS HAVE BEEN UPDATED, AND OTHERS ARE STILL TO BE RE-WORKED. BROWSE THROUGH OUR STACKS, SUCH AS THEY ARE, THEN WATCH OUR "NEWS AND UPDATES" SECTION, AND CHECK BACK OFTEN, TO SEE HOW OUR WORK HERE IS PROGRESSING. The Public Library is lined with shelves of useful references regarding the ongoing provision of disability services in higher education, from policy to practice, from day-to-day functioning to professional development opportunities. As you peruse each shelf you will find direct links to on-line information related to the shelf title. Some of the shelves are still empty... we know what we want to include but haven't started collecting those materials as yet. Other shelves are already stocked, but information is being added regularly. In this age of technology, one can't be too rich, too well-equipped, or have too many links available! Welcome to the NEW Home of DAIS!Disability Access Information and Support (DAIS) is an important resource to the higher education community, providing a menu of services for those concerned with disability and access in higher education. Institutions and organizations can contract for help from DAIS, in the person of Jane Jarrow, Ph.D., for a variety of services. The growing list of DAIS publications and activities includes resource materials to assist in interpreting/fulfilling legal mandates, a variety of professional development opportunities, policy/procedure reviews, consultation regarding quality assurance and compliance, and information to aid in understanding the philosophical underpinnings of providing quality service to people with disabilities in the postsecondary environment.
